World 🌎 Mental Health Day 10th Oct 2021

Let’s normalise our mental health on World Mental Health Day!

I’ve suffered from anxiety, depression and post natal depression. I’ve struggled with anxiety since I was a child. Mental health issues run in our family and in my husbands. My kids show signs of anxiety and my ASD superhero has anxiety and times of depression.

But you know what’s great about having mental health issues? Recognising it in others. Knowing how to help (or how to support them in getting help). Knowing how to help our kids (as the knowledge and awareness wasn’t there for us when we were younger). How powerful is that?! What we learn about ourselves, what we experience, has some benefits in us recognising our own mental health and how we can help those we love. It lets us know when to stop, to recharge and sometimes to make necessary changes.

Look around at your friends and loved ones and you’ll notice that you’re not alone. You probably know of someone in therapy, some may be on medication, others who are asking for help, or someone you know needs help. You know it’s not just you and me, it’s so much more common than we think. So it needs to be talked about more.

Our mental health is just as important as our physical health.

Normalise talking about your health, all of your health.
